Trees Planted By Streams

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked…

“But his delight is on the law of Yahweh, and on his law he meditates day and night.

“He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither.”

– Psalm 1:1-3, excerpts

Sitting here on a porch on the bank of the MacKenzie River in Oregon, I have a live visual aid to go along with this passage. The river is lined with trees that “do not wither,” receiving their nourishment from a perpetual supply.

It makes me ask myself, “How close to the source is my soul planted?”

  1. A very good question to ask. I should spend some time on that as well.

Hey hope all is still well and look forward to the day we hang out again.
