About

I would send you to a social media outlet to find out more about me, but I’m no longer active on those platforms (for now), so here’s the skinny:  I enjoy a variety of pursuits, including writing, reading, smoking my pipe, and engaging conversation.  I soak in as much outside air as I can once the average temperature goes below 84º.   I love winter and despise the summer.

I’ve been a Christian most of my life, but I am now an agnostic atheist who is no longer determined to draw speculative conclusions about gods and all the whatnot that goes with religion.  So far, do not see any evidence to support all I was taught as a kid and later at seminary (I’ve got a Master’s degree in this stuff, unbelievably!),

Ultimately, I think it’s a real wonder that we are all here, and making our best attempt to live together on this earth in the short time that we have.

I decided to leave all my posts on this blog from the last 20 years as a way to honor the past, even though I see the world in an entirely different way now. So if you wanted to sample any of the drivel from previous years, you can look at the archives.

If you want to read about why I left religion behind, this series of posts explain it to some degree:

Why I Left Religion Behind – Part 1 – Why It Wasn’t Easy

Why I Left Religion Behind – Part 2 – The Bible

Why I Left Religion Behind – Part 3 – The Problem of Evil

Why I Left Religion Behind – Part 4 – Right from Wrong

Why I Left Religion Behind – Part 5 – How Shall I Now Live?
