I have read that if you are doing it right that you are marrying your best friend. Well, in the Spring of next year, I get to do just that. Thanks be to God, Krista Hendryx said “yes”, and we are getting married!! I could go on and on about the quality of character, and depth of spirit in her, but I’ll simply say that we have begun a friendship that has naturally flowed into dating, and now towards marriage. I told someone the other day that if we weren’t getting married that I would want her as a friend for the rest of my life. That’s a foundation that a marriage can permanently stand on. In many ways I feel that she is way out of my league; a beautiful, intelligent person with integrity and a deep love for God, but I know that each step of our friendship has been blessed and led by God’s hand.
Jeremiah 29:11 seems to speak volumes right now about my life (this is the Barmer Translation): “Here is what Yahweh says: ‘My thoughts on your behalf consist of plans for wholeness (shalom) and not for evil, to give you a cord of hope for your future.’”
